does it make a difference if the socks you are wearing make you feel happy? i think it does! photographing them might be a little nuts, but people who like cotton might get it. you know you are a fiber freak when you clutch balls of yarn to your chest and just smell them, or go catatonic upon entering a craft store. when i first moved to japan i had two suitcases; one full of brand new suits and old poetry books, and a second full to the brim with hand knit wool socks. when i went back the second time, one was full of socks, and the other was full of handwoven cloths.
