happy new year! we visited the shrine near my inlaws (ate ozoni and osechi and drank gooood sake) and got back last night to heavy snow in kyoto. by the time i hailed a cab i was buried in white flakes. i even saw a few snowmen around the city! it turned into a white christmas after all.
