an old friend sent me a happy chinese new year email from france. when i wrote back to see how they are doing she asked me if i`d heard of this movie `le fiancee japonais` - i couldn`t find that but i think she meant this `tokyo fiancee` that debuted at TIFF last year. i know pining to see this is an exercise in madness as i probably will never get near a place where this would be showing, so perhaps i can track down a copy of the book it was based on. something in the trailer really got a hook in me.
