i just watched the film `round midnight` on hulu. it was based on the real life experiences of jazz greats bud powell and lester young in paris in the 50s. herbie hancock and martin scorsese were in it. it is excellent, if you haven`t seen it i do recommend it b/c there are some unforgettable scenes. here`s the trailer;
