WEAVING TEA TOWELS

with the lighting it was impossible to get the colors right, but i love how this photo looks like it came out of a book from the 50s.  this is one of my tea towels in progress.

out of the fluorescent light and into the day, the actual color is a natural oatmeal/offwhite with marled navy/black or navy/brown accents.  i got the wonderful slub yarn from avril kyoto, and the beautiful navy handspun cotton from masu hisa before it closed in nara.  this photo is more like it.  all finished!

these are part of a limited run of raw selvedge hand towels & tea towels i wove over the last few months.  i`m so happy with the way they turned out!  they`re up for sale now here.
