i`ve only learned the term `builders tea` today, but i`ve been drinking the stuff since i was ten. hailing from newfoundland, well, tea is a sacrament. even though we have loads of beautiful japanese teas in piles around us, we can`t get off the builders tea, everyday. i start us with a small cup of simple japanese green tea in the morning, either sencha or genmaicha as my partner prefers that, then besides an afternoon and a pre-dinner builders, we have one big mug of builders after dinner each, and perhaps an herbal pot before bed. even though my husband is japanese, he prefers a builder with milk most of the time when given a choice. (we save the good japanese tea for with sweets, or a relaxing weekend break.) we love tetley bold, but as we can`t get that in japan and can`t get it sent anymore, we`ve switched to the bold version of PG tips which is quite good. i`m way into herbal tea and love to grow and dry my own, but the builder`s is my constant. i find it funny that i`m a huge fan of tea, and good tea, even fermented tea for crying out loud, but through all the years a cheap strong pekoe with milk is still my favorite cup. perhaps that says something of my true nature.
