UME BLOSSOMS

 

first off, i`d like to introduce this guy and his cute daschund.  i didn`t realize until i uploaded these photos how often they showed up in the frame. lol.

 people go crazy for sakura in japan, but i`ve always loved the ume front better.  the perfect round white pink and red blossoms are such a welcome sight after a long winter - the first sign of promise that spring will come once again.  i`m trying to stretch out this winter in my internal clock, because the weather has been so wonderful and it`s been a good season to be dormant and restful.  i`m glad the ume are starting to bloom now, it`s good pacing to prepare myself for another too-hot kyoto summer and the hectic pace of getting back into teaching.
